5 Things You Need from Homegoods for Office Organization

January 29, 2018

This post was sponsored by Homegoods but as always, all thoughts and opinions are genuinely my own.
If you’ve been following my over the past month, then you know I’ve been on a bit of an organization kick. From the refrigerator to under the bathroom sink, La Casa de Emilyeveryday is finally getting it’s act together! You think I would have done this sooner especially since we’ve been living in the house for two and a half years and I am a Virgo. (We’re known to be the most organized members of the zodiac. ??‍♀️) But better late than never! The good news is that the office has been in good standing since I updated it back in September. And as someone who blogs from my home, I often get asked how I stayed organized. My secret: Homegoods.

The Cat’s Out of The Bag!

Now you know! Homegoods is my go-to destination for all of my organizational needs. The truth of the matter is, I don’t just want my home to be orderly, I want it to be appealing. Which means I’m constantly on the lookout for pieces that offer form AND function. Yes, they do exist! Homegoods has some of the best products for organizing your office in a stylish manner. So I’ve rounded up my top five must-haves and where in the store you can find them!

Pro Tip: Back-to-school is the best time to shop for these type of items!

#1 Drawer Organizers

Metal, plastic, acrylic, glass – these drawer organizers come in all different materials, colors, and sizes! They’re the perfect storage solution for helping to declutter shallow drawers. (Don’t judge the colored pencils.)

Where to find them: The kitchen aisle near the silverware organizers

#2 Magazine Files

Perfect for storing magazines, loose papers, notebooks, binders, and files – this multipurpose item is a must have for your office! Don’t want people seeing the clutter inside? Flip them around for a streamlined look!

Where to find them: Office section

#3 Storage Boxes

The best solution for those who have little to no storage in their desks! This is where I hide my bulky items like packing tape dispensers and three hole punches. Available in tons of sizes and colors to fit your design taste.

#4 Drawer Units

These babies are the real MVP! Conceals all those loose paper products that you never know what to do with, envelopes, receipts, blank Thank You cards. And the smaller ones are great for loose items like paperclips, push pins, and staples!

#5 File Boxes

A filing box is the perfect place to store all your bills and important documentation. Just one of these is enough for both Brian and I. Get a second one for added storage and to balance out your shelves!

Where to find them: The basket aisle or in the office section.

Nothing’s more daunting than organizing a messy office. My advice? Take stock of what you have to figure out the best storage solutions for your space! Have a ton of loose papers? Filing boxes and magazine files are going to be your best friends. Don’t know where to put your big, bulky items? Snag a couple of storage boxes FOR THE WIN! Now go forth and get that office organized. Because as the old saying goes, “For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earny.” Was that corny or what? 😉
